Choose an Upgrade

On level up this pill card panel appears on the left side. Each pill has a colored square icon, a description, and a lyric tag that activates when the lyric word is sung.

Lyric tags drive synergy with the song. When the lyric says "grand", every upgrade with the (GRAND) tag activates a temporary bonus. Your build syncs with the lyrics.

Corrupted variant

A pill option sometimes appears with x3 effect but a -50% penalty on another random stat. Marked with a skull in the corner.

Choose a Relic

Loot crates and shops offer categorized relics. Large cards with a prominent icon, 6px tier border, gradient badge.

Gold
Iron Skin
+3 armor and 5% damage reduction. Hard caps respected.
Red
Glass Cannon
+35% damage. -35% maxHp. Real tradeoff.
Purple
Shrapnel Solo
Each hit fires 3 fragments at 30% damage. No recursion.

Character relic drop (boss loot)

Bosses drop relics specific to the chosen character. Not shared between instruments.

Below 50% HP: boomerang becomes a blast for x6 damage in 320px.

Last Fanfare
Hit below 25% HP: shockwave push plus 2s invuln. CD 45s.
Blue
Echo Shield
3+ boomerangs in flight: incoming damage reduced by 35%.

Choose a Branch

At key moments you pick which talent branch to progress. 4 branches per character, 5 tiers each. T5 unlocks a unique talent relic.

Char vs Elem. Each character has 2 char branches (themed to the instrument) and 2 elem branches (fire, ice, lightning, shadow, wind, light, earth). Elem branches are shared between characters but each T5 is distinct.
